Bheem Malhotra

Bheem Malhotra

A man of many talents, Bheem Malhotra is an Artist, Associate Professor in Art in Chandigarh College of Architecture and Honorary Chairman of the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi. Born in 1964, he is known nationally and internationally for his Art. He has been a part of several exhibitions at the state, national and international level and has received many awards and honours.

His unique and exceptional work in the medium of Water colours won him the National Award South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2015 and also an award in the All India Exhibition of Water Colours by AIFACS, 2015 in New Delhi.

As Chairman of the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi, Bheem has conceptualized and curated several unique and creative programmes for the promotion of Art, Architecture and Artists of the Tricity, with several endeavours to get people closer to art by opening public places for art workshops, talks and interactions. Organized and designed extensive art exchange programme on Prime Minister Modi Mission “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”

He also conceptualized and designed the Chandigarh Administration Tableau for the Republic Day Parade, India Gate, New Delhi in January 2016 and played a pivotal role in setting up the Chandigarh Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair in November 2015 and 2016.

His works are in the collection of many museums, government organizations and private collections in India and abroad. He has attended many national and international level art workshops, showcasing his works in 20 solo shows including Nehru Centre London, UK, South Korea, and many group shows in India and abroad. He has also contributed in many art shows for charity for he believes art must be for all.

  • Nepal Earthquake:  Participated in Nepal Charity Fund raiser organized jointly by the Consulate Journal of Canada and British Deputy High Commission. Donated 28,000 Rs, through the sale of Art in silent auction. May 2015.
  • Also participated in another fund raiser programme for Nepal relief fund by the Indian Art Collector. Online show May 2015.
  • Donated 24,000 Rs in the Kargil war fund through the sale of art 1999.
  • “Cry, Relief and you” design selected for their new year card; helped them eight lakh through the sale of 80,000 cards in India in 1997.
  • Designed and Donated publicity material on the subject of donate eye and donate blood.
