M.N. Sharma Photography Award 2021
MN Sharma Architectural Society takes pleasure in inviting photo entries for MN Sharma
Photography Award 2021 on the theme, “Linking levels- Ramps and Staircases” The
photography contest is being organized by the M.N. Sharma Architectural Society,
Chandigarh in collaboration with Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi for the youth of Tricity, age
limit between 18-30 years.
Ramps and Staircases are essential to an architectural experience. These elements
foster connectivity in various dimensions which enrich the essence of the space,
playing a key role in its functionality. In Corbusier's masterpiece, Chandigarh has
several instances of sculptural and intriguing ramps and staircases which transcend
the function of mere vertical circulation, exuding multidimensionality. Le Corbusier
called them, ‘Linking Levels- Ramps and Staircases’. Capture some of these ramps
and staircases, whether in a building or an open area, through your lens to win the MN
Sharma Photography Award 2021.
Each participant may send a maximum of three photographs (colored / black and white) of high
resolution in the google form itself available on the website of Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi.
The entries will be judged by an eminent jury. The best entry will receive M.N. Sharma
Photography Award-2021 with a citation and an Award of Rs.25000. Selected photographs will
be showcased in an exhibition launching on 30th October on the occasion of M.N. Sharma
Memorial Day. Copyright of selected entries will remain with M.N Sharma Architectural Society
& Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi. The decision of the jury will be final. The earlier winners will
not be entitled to the award. The artist must send their original works with an undertaking in the
prescribed google form, latest by 18th October 2021. Self-attested photocopy of Aadhar card or
College Identity Card for the proof of address along with the prescribed Performa available on
the website/office of Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi should be submitted with the entries.
